Ministry Of Transportation Urges The Public To Check The MitraDarat Application Before Departing For Homecoming By Bus

The Directorate General of Land Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) appealed to bus users to first check the feasibility of the transportation road in the Partnerrat application to ensure safety and security on the way.

"In the MitraDarat application, there is a feature to check the feasibility of bus transportation roads, both AKAP buses (intercity transportation between provinces) and tourism. People just need to enter the vehicle number in the "Cek Laik" feature in the application, the bus statement will be issued whether it is roadworthy or not," said Director General of Land Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation Hendro Sugiatno in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, March 26.

Hendro said whether or not the vehicle will be visible from the operational permit for transportation and periodic test graduation information, which will appear when the vehicle number is entered in the application.

"This is very important to do to prevent unwanted things from happening on the road. So we urge all people, whether renting a bus or being a passenger, to generally make sure the bus is safe and safe before traveling," said Hendro.

The Directorate General of Land Transportation through the Land Transportation Management Center (BPTD) is also trying to realize road transportation safety during the Eid holiday by conducting ramp checks on intercity interprovincial transportation (AKAP), intercity cities in the province (AKDP), cross-border transportation and tourism transportation.

"Together with the Provincial, Regency and City Transportation Offices throughout Indonesia. Ramp checks are not only carried out ahead of Eid transportation, but checks are routinely and independently also carried out by PO (otobus company) Buses," he explained.

Hendro said the ramp check ahead of the Eid transportation period was carried out from February 21 to March 31, 2024, so that if a shortage of buses was found, it could be repaired before the Eid transportation period which will start on April 3, 2024.

"As of yesterday, Monday, March 25, at least 10 am, a feasibility check has been carried out on 20,173 buses," said Director General Hendro.

Of these, 13,752 fleets were allowed to operate, 3,661 fleets received repair warnings, and the rest were prohibited from operating because they did not meet road safety aspects.

The entire rampc Heck series is carried out in each Type A Terminal, Type B Terminal, Type C Terminal and Tourism Bus Pool by each relevant agency according to their authority.

"We urge all PO Buses, both AKAP and tourism, so that all fleets meet their feasibility so that they can accommodate service needs on Eid transportation," he said.

People who will rent tourism buses are also advised to provide a rest area for drivers in tourist areas and if they spend the night in tourist areas or destinations, so that drivers can be optimal when driving a fleet to deliver service users the next day.

"We will continue to oversee, supervise, and monitor the implementation of ramp checks so that Eid transportation can take place safely, safely, and comfortably," said Hendro.
