When Sandiaga Uno Praised By Sri Mulyani About The Performance Of The Ministry Of Tourism And Creative Economy

JAKARTA - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno said that his party emphasized the key to collaboration to advancing the Indonesian tourism sector.

"I encourage collaboration and the creative economy to grow because of this extraordinary collaboration," said Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga at The Weekly Brief with Sandi Uno in Jakarta, quoted on Tuesday, March 26.

Sandiaga also shared with the steps taken by his party, he received praise from the Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani. The reason is, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy itself is rare to ask for more budgets to run all its flagship programs.

"I was told by Mrs. Sri Mulyani that this parekraf contribution was relatively high even though the budget never asked for more. 'Wow, I'm touched by Mrs. Sri Mulyani'," he said.

He added that at that time he was submitting a tax report at the presidential palace.

Then, Sri Mulyani immediately informed Sandiaga about the performance of his ministry in the midst of the limited amount of budget received by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy.

"When I handed over taxes at the palace, (Sri Mulyani) said that. 'This is Mr. Sandi (the highest contributor to GDP) after the oil and gas. But, he never asked for (budgets) more," he said.

According to Sandiaga, this can be achieved because his party emphasizes the key to collaboration with various parties, from industry to the media.

"Well, this is thanks to the collaboration we have made with industry, academics, as well as communities and the media. So, hopefully in the future we will increase the collaborative steps," he added.
