Telkom Ready To Face An Increase In Traffic Ahead Of Eid Al-Fitr 2024

JAKARTA - PT Telkom Regional 7 is ready to face an increase in telecommunication traffic ahead, during and after Eid al-Fitr 1445 Hijri/Lebaran 2024 by optimizing various infrastructures in the company.

"We ensure infrastructure readiness during Ramadan and the flow of Eid Al-Fitr 2024 homecoming, including preparing special teams at the regional to retail levels in 9 cities in Eastern Indonesia (KTI)," said Telkom's Wholesale & International Service Director, Bogi Witjaksono in Makassar, quoted from Antara, Friday 22 March.

He said that his party maintains the main infrastructure that is the backbone of the community's telecommunications for homecoming, so it cannot be broken.

All Telkom infrastructures that are optimized by its services ranging from fiber optic cables to BTS-based cellular networks are ready to support homecoming and backflow.

"What is clear is that we make sure first, the cellphone network cannot be slow, Indihome must not break up at home, the payment system must also be maintained," he said.

Meanwhile, Telkom Regional VII KTI EVP, Agus Yudha Basuki said that for the operation and supervision of telecommunication infrastructure, each retail location has formed a post, plus a post at the regional office.

Thus, if there are anomalies or telecommunications disturbances, they can be immediately addressed, considering that when the homecoming and reverse flow on average experienced a traffic spike.

"In the mirror of last year's Ramadan homecoming, Telkom noted that there was an increase in telecommunication traffic of around 6-10 percent compared to normal conditions," he explained.

This condition occurred due to increased internet activity, telephone, and video calls for telecommunication service users in the field.
