JAKARTA - The Gedebage-Tasikmalaya-Cilacap (Getaci) Toll Road project has not yet found a bright spot to date. The toll road, which is predicted to be the longest in Indonesia, is due to financing problems after being abandoned by its investors in early 2023, while the re-auction schedule continues to retreat.
PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk itself was previously included in the ranks of the consortium that won the auction, before finally the consortium disbanded. So, will Jasa Marga return to this project in the next auction?
Jasa Marga's Corporate Communication and Community Development Group Head Lisye Octaviana said that her party could not comment much on the auction of the Getaci Toll Project. Given, currently the preparation process for the re-auction is still being carried out by the Ministry of PUPR.
"Until now, nothing can be conveyed because the process is still there (Ministry of PUPR)," said Lisye when met at her office, quoted Friday, March 22.
In addition, Lisye assessed that for 2024 Jasa Marga is still focusing on toll road construction projects that are already running. At least 5 projects are being worked on by Jasa Marga.
"Currently, Jasa Marga is still focused on the 5 toll projects we are working on, such as Jogja-Solo, Jogja-Bawen, South Japek, Patimban and Probolinggo-Banyuwangi," he said.
To note, the consortium that won the Getaci Toll auction canceled entry to the project. One of the reasons the cause is because this toll road is too long, so the cost of the project required is very large.
The auction-winning consortium consists of SOEs and the private sector. They formed a Toll Road Business Entity (BUJT), namely PT Jasamarga Gedebage Cilacap (JGC). In the consortium, there are several names of conglomerates behind it, namely Martua Sitorus and Jusuf Hamka.
Previously, the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) revealed that the auction process for the Gedebage-Tasikmalaya-Cilacap (Getaci Toll Road) was extended.
Director General of Public Works and Housing Infrastructure Financing at the Ministry of PUPR Herry Trisaputra Zuna said the project auction extension process was carried out due to the addition of expansion of construction land.
"It's still in the process, yesterday there was an additional clearance zone. So, add (land acquisition) as well as be structured for business entities," said Herry when met in Jakarta, Monday, February 5.
