The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) said that it has prepared a number of strategies to improve the performance of the processed food and beverage industry (Mamin) this year. One of them is by providing assistance in the form of a machine restructuring program.
Director of the Beverage, Tobacco Products and Refreshment Industry of the Directorate General of Agro Industry at the Ministry of Industry, Merrijantij Punguan Pintaria, said that his party had allocated a budget of Rp. 20 billion to realize the program in 2024.
"For this year, there is actually a total budget allocation of Rp. 20 billion (for engine restructuring) in the food and beverage industry," said Merrijantij when met at the Asrim Press Conference agenda entitled "Ministry Industry Performance in 2023 and Opportunities and Challenges in 2024" at the Mercure Hotel, Jakarta, Wednesday, March 13.
Merrijantij said the budget allocation would target 20 companies with a total of 10 each for the food and beverage industry.
"However, it depends on the value of the reimbursement, because we are still in the process of what is currently available in the forest and plantation products industry in the wood processing industry, the maximum reimburse obtained is only Rp. 1 billion," he said.

He considered that if later the value of the reimburse obtained by each Mamin industrial company was less than IDR 1 billion, later the budget allocation could target more than 20 companies.
"So, the target is Rp. 20 billion, but if for example the value of the reimbursement is below Rp. 1 billion and or the industrial expenditure is not too high, this can (strengthen) more than 20 companies," he said.
Furthermore, Merrijantij said, currently there is no regulation for the implementation of the engine restructuring program. So, he said, the Ministry of Industry targets the regulation to be issued in the first quarter of 2024
"We will try to pursue the publication in the first quarter (2024). Hopefully in the first quarter it can be completed so that we can realize this until December," he said.
