Starting Tomorrow, KAI Operates A New Style Of South Night Train With The New Generation Economy Train

JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) operates the New Generation Economic Train on KA (106) New Style at Night South Pasar Senen-Surabaya Gubeng relation starting tomorrow, Thursday, March 14, 2024.

KAI VP Public Relations Joni Martinus said the KA (105) New Style at night South Surabaya Relations Gubeng-Pasar Senen will also be operated using the New Generation Economic Train starting March 15, 2024.

With the operation of the New Generation Economic Train, continued Joni, the Stamformation of the New Night South Train will be two executive trains, five new generation economic trains, one dining train, one generator train, and one baggage train.

"The increase in services to trains in this economic class is a form of KAI's commitment to listening to needs and input from customers, to be able to continue to improve service and customer experience. Furthermore, Joni said that KAI consistently continues to adapt to meet people's expectations to increase comfort on economic trains.

"Economic trains, which previously had a capacity of 106 seats with 3-2 formations, upright standards, and face each other, are gradually replaced to economic trains with a capacity of 80 seats with 2-2 formations facing each other or not dealing," he explained.

Now, continued Joni, KAI is making the latest innovation by presenting the New Generation Economic Train, where the number of seats is 72 seats, so the leg room is wider.

"The type of seat has also used the container seat type which makes customers more comfortable when leaning and the slope can be adjusted (reclining) and can be adjusted to the direction of the train or face-to-face (revolving)," he said.

In addition to seats, continued Joni, the upgrade was also carried out on the train interior with the Public Information Display System (PIDS) added which can display clocks and temperatures. The train interior is also moderately similar to the executive train such as baggage shape and brighter interior nuances.

Not only that, modifications are also made on toilets with more luxurious nuances and using sitting toilets. There is also a place of worship on the restoration train.

The New Generation Economic Train is the result of modifications carried out by KAI at Balai Yasa Manggarai (the maintenance site for KAI's railway facilities in Manggarai, South Jakarta). Previously, KAI had launched the New Generation Economic Train on the Jayabaya Train for the Pasarsenen-Malang pp relationship on September 26, 2023.

KAI through Balai Yasa Manggarai targets 60 long-seat economic trains to face perpendicular, to become a modified new generation economy. As well as 52 other trains in 2025.

The schedule for the South Night New Style train is the Pasarsenen-Surabaya Gubeng relation, which departs from Pasarsenen at 11.00 WIB and arrives in Surabaya Gubeng at 00.13 WIB. For the Surabaya Gubeng-Pasarsenen relation, departing from Surabaya Gubeng at 12.00 WIB and arriving at Pasarsenen at 01.23 WIB.

"KAI will continue to increase the number of train modifications so that more train facilities are increased in comfort. Hopefully, public interest will increase to use safe, comfortable, safe, safe, and timely rail mass transportation," concluded Joni.
