JAKARTA - The Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs (Kemenkop UKM) collaborated with Wiseco.id to assist SMEs in preparing their business fundamentals and proposals to be able to get funding in a series of programs called Business Decent Funding (BisLaf).

Assistant Deputy for Financing and Investment of SMEs at the Coordinating Ministry for SMEs, Temmy Satya Permana, said that through the program generated from this collaboration, it is a momentum for business actors to transform for the better, have solid business fundamentals, manage a well-organized business management and increase their business capacity and quality.

"This activity not only reflects our commitment to provide the best support to small and medium enterprises, but also as a tangible manifestation of joint efforts to improve financial literacy and business development skills among SME business actors," Temmy said in a written statement, quoted Friday, March 8.

Temmy said, MSMEs are considered to have an important role in becoming the backbone of the economy. On the one hand, MSMEs are also required to be able to get financing in order to increase their business scale.

According to him, the workshop, which was held on March 6-7, 2024, is an integral part of the BisLaf program which has started in mid-January 2024. Some of the activities held in the workshop series are seminars, Socialization of Financing Institutions and Pitching Demo SMEs.

The number of applicants for the BisLaf program itself has reached more than 1,300 SMEs. This figure shows that many SMEs understand the importance of accessing funding to develop their business.

Then, there are 180 SMEs targeted to pass the curation to enter the next stage.

Later, 180 SMEs that pass the curation are expected to be able to take the mentoring program seriously and make the best use of it because they have lost one place / opportunity from other participants.

Furthermore, SMEs that pass will be provided with guidance and information on how to build businesses that have the potential to get funding from various sources, such as investors, financial institutions or other business support programs.

Thus, it is hoped that SMEs that participate in this program can increase financial literacy, starting from banking financing, export financing, securities crowdfunding-based financing and privately-based funding for investors.

Thus, they can understand and explore the various choices of financing sources available to SMEs.

"A total of 15 SME players who will do the pitch today are expected to give their best performance. This session is not only an opportunity to present their business, but also as a media branding and promotion to introduce their businesses (how we are, what we are and what are we going to do) to finance institutions and investor partners," he said.

As for the 180 SMEs that were accompanied, it is hoped that there will be more than 60 of the best SMEs that deserve funding and successful funding.

"And for financing institutions and investors, we hope to provide positive feedback for SMEs and can provide opportunities to provide access to funding for SMEs," he said.

Meanwhile, CEO Wiseco.id Rizky Wihardi admitted that the collaboration is in line with his company's vision of focusing on providing business assistance and investment to SMEs.

This was born because it saw that many SMEs were growing. However, funding is not ready because of the lack of literacy.

"Therefore, we see an exciting synergy here and we hope that this collaboration can raise Indonesian SMEs and later grow, both in terms of capacity and quality," he said.

"The orientation can build SMEs that have a future that is indeed worthy of funding, not just business, which is not clear where to go or where to go," he added.
