The Ministry Of Transportation Ensures That Three Crossing Ships In Gorontalo Are Ready To Serve The 2024 Eid Homecoming Flow

The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) said three crossing motorboats (KMP) at the Gorontalo Ferry Port are ready to operate to transport and serve passengers on the 1445 Hijri Eid homecoming flow.

Head of the Legal and Public Relations Section of the Directorate General of Land Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation Aznal in a statement in Jakarta, Thursday, said that the ship's feasibility inspection had been carried out on the three ships by the Gorontalo Class II Land Transportation Management Center (BPTD) to ensure the safety of passengers and prevent marine accidents while serving the Eid homecoming flow.

"The holy month of Ramadan is just counting days, to ensure the smoothness and safety of passengers during Eid al-Fitr 1445 Hijriah, Gorontalo Class II Land Transportation Management Center, Directorate General of Land Transportation, Ministry of Transportation conducted an inspection of the safety of the motorboat crossing at the Gorontalo Ferry Port on Wednesday, March 6 and Marisa Ferry Port today," Aznal said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, March 7.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Gorontalo Dominggus Class II Land Transportation Management Center, stated that his party was preparing two ships that will operate at the Gorontalo Ferry Port, namely the Moinit Crossing Motor Ship (KMP) and the Tomini Tuna KMP.

In addition, a ship has also been prepared at the Marisa Ferry Port, KMP Cengkih Afo.

Ketiganya telah dilakukan ramp check atau pemeriksaan kelaikan. Dari hal pemeriksaan dinyatakan melewati uji kelaikan dan siap beroperasi pada momen transportasi Lebaran.

"To anticipate the surge in passengers during the Eid homecoming, we have ramp checked the ship and the results are in accordance with standards and can be used by the general public," said Dominggus.

He outlined the inspection of the ship including inspections of passenger safety, both from passenger beds, life jackets, life buoys, first aid kits and other passenger safety support equipment.

"Security inspections or ramp checks are very important to be carried out and aim to check the feasibility of ships in shipping during Eid transportation in 2024 for the creation of safety," he explained.

He said the passenger capacity that can be transported by KMP Moinit is 196 passengers along with two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles, while for KMP Tuna Tomini and KMP Cengkeh Afo each can carry 220 passengers and vehicles. This is based on the Passenger Ship Safety Certificate (SKKP).

"I hope that this year's Eid transportation will run smoothly and safely, so that services to service users can be maximized," concluded Dominggus.
