Reviewing The Construction Of The Padang-Sicincin Toll Road, Erick Thohir Calls The Progress 55.43 Percent

JAKARTA - SOE Minister Erick Thohir said that the work on the Padang-Sicincin (Pacin) toll road project was in accordance with the good quality. Currently, the progress of the project's physical construction has reached 55.43 percent.

This was conveyed by Erick after making a direct visit on Wednesday, March 6.

This visit aims to ensure that the progress of the toll road construction runs according to the timeline and quality of the quality that has been planned.

The Padang-Sicincin toll road itself has a length of 36.6 km, with a total investment value of Rp9.8 trillion.

Until March 2024, the progress of the physical construction of the Padang-Sicincin toll road project has reached 55.43 percent with the progress of land acquisition which continues with a percentage of 93.86 percent.

"I want to emphasize the importance of going directly to the field to oversee and control development projects. Moreover, this project is an important facility to ensure the economic growth of an area," he said in an official statement Wednesday, March 6.

Erick said the presence of toll roads would be marked by an increase in electricity consumption. As well as industrial growth or residential areas such as on toll roads that have been connected in Sumatra.

Furthermore, Erick is also optimistic that the construction of this toll road will definitely increase the multiplier effect of economic growth in the West Sumatra region.

"And also able to absorb labor," he said.

Meanwhile, the President Director of Hutama Karya, Budi Harto, ensured that the construction of the Pacin Toll Road would be used on time. In fact, Hutama Karya will operate the toll road functionally.

"God willing, we will function this toll road in July. With the use of a number of construction digitization technologies such as the implementation of Building Information Modelling (BIM) from design process to construction, we hope it can be completely completed in the third quarter of this year," said Budi.

Furthermore, Budi Harto explained, this toll road will be equipped with a number of facilities including 3 toll gates, 1 pair of Type A Rest and Service Places (TIP) at STA 22 + 000, and a number of crossing buildings such as 8 river bridges, 2 irrigation bridges, and 14 underbridge bridges.

This toll road will also be equipped with a number of 2x2 lanes, with a plan speed of 80 km per hour. This will shorten the travel time from Padang to Bukittinggi to just one hour, so that it can increase regional tourism and develop surrounding areas.

The presence of the Padang-Sicincin toll road also has an impact on improving the economy through MSMEs, increasing the value of property and potential for housing development, to expanding the distribution of industrial production products, farmers, fishermen, and breeders because they can be immediately brought to markets in the surrounding areas such as Pekanbaru, Dumai, and Jambi.
