Hutama Karya Completes The Construction Project Of The Bandung UPI Building

PT Hutama Karya (Persero) has implemented several techniques to accelerate the completion of phase 2 construction work packages in the construction of three buildings at the Indonesian University of Education (UPI) in Bandung, West Java.

First, create a sequence of (sequence) jobs in each section, the use of the GOndola to replace the role (scafolding) on the process of installing the fas'ad, dividing the 3 subcones for each MEP job coverage.

In addition, first perform a test pit to detect the possibility of pipes and cables that have not been detected in existing buildings.

Executive Vice President (EVP) Corporate Secretary Hutama Karya Tjahjo Purnomo said the project was built with the concept of a smart building as well as a design on the fasad of each building covered with Aluminum Composite Panel (ACP) equipped with glass. Thus, making it different from other buildings.

In addition, specifically for the FPSD Building, there is a plaza mascot in the center of the building which also adds aesthetic value.

Currently, Hutama Karya has completed the phase 2 construction work package project in the construction of three buildings at UPI Bandung.

The three buildings are the Graduate School Building, the Faculty of Economic and Business Education (FPEB) and the Faculty of Art and Design Education (FPSD) worth Rp232.58 billion.

Tjahjo said the project was the development of facilities and infrastructure for the postgraduate building, FPEB and FPSD in the UPI campus environment.

This is because the previous conditions had limited classrooms that were not comparable to the growth in the number of students. In addition, it also adds rooms for new study programs, lecture rooms and several other facilities, such as laboratories and auditoriums.

"In addition to working on supporting facilities for teaching and learning activities, in this project, the utilities, infrastructure and landscape rejuvenation process is also carried out in the campus environment," said Tjahjo, quoted from Hutama Karya's official website, Wednesday, March 6.

In the project which started in August 2021 and was completed in October 2023, Hutama Karya carried out a series of works including structures, Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP), architecture, interior design and construction of rooms, utilities systems, infrastructure and landscape.

Now, the project has entered during the maintenance period for one year by working on a deflect list to repair minor damage so that the building functions according to specifications.

"We hope that with the completion of the renewal project and the expansion of this academic facility, we can maximize the teaching and learning process at the UPI campus," he added.
