Commission VII DPR RI Asks KPK To Check Bahlil Regarding Revocation Of IUP And HGU

JAKARTA - Member of Commission VII DPR RI, Mulyanto urged the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to examine the Minister of Investment and Head of BKPM Bahlil Lahadalia in his capacity as Head of the Land and Planning Planning Task Force.

As Head of the Investment Land and Planning Planning Task Force, Bahlil is suspected of conducting an exercise of his authority in revoking and reacting mining business licenses (IUP) and Cultivation Rights (HGU) for oil palm land in several regions.

In revoking and giving back IUP and HGU, it was reported that Bahlil asked for billions of rupiah in return or share participation in each company. Regarding this information, Mulyanto asked the KPK to immediately examine Bahlil.

"The existence of the task force for structuring land use and investment arrangement is also overlapping. This task should have become the domain of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources because the law and presidential decree related to mining businesses are in the working area of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, not the Ministry of Investment," Mulyanto said in a statement to the media, Monday, March 4.

Mulyanto also assessed that the existence of the task force led by Bahlil was full of political interests. Moreover, its formation ahead of the 2024 presidential election campaign. So that Mulyanto breakthroughd the formation of this task force as an effort to legalize the search for election funds for one of the election participants.

"Regardless of political affairs, I see that the existence of this task force will damage the national mining ecosystem. The government seems arbitrary in giving authority to certain institutions," continued Mulyanto.

Mulyanto said that mining affairs that should be the authority of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources are now being taken over by the Ministry of Investment.

"In fact, mining management cannot only be seen from the point of view of investment but also related to the environment and sovereignty of the use of national natural resources," concluded Mulyanto.
