Deputy Minister Of SOEs Until BNI Boss Enters The Exchange Of Candidates For Minister Of Finance, Erick Thohir: Good Figure

JAKARTA - A number of names that are included in the candidate exchange for the Minister of Finance (Menkeu), ranging from Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Kartika Wirjoatmodjo, Mahendra Siregar, to Royke Tumilaar.

Of the names circulating, two of them are figures from the Ministry of SOEs and state-owned companies, namely Deputy Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Kartika Wirjoatmodjo and President Director of PT Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI) Royke Tumilaar.

Responding to this, SOE Minister Erick Thohir revealed that the names of the candidates circulating are good figures and have a good background.

"There are four candidates (based on the news circulating). Mr. Budi Menkes, Mr. Tiko, Mr. Mahendra, then Mr. Royke are very good figures in my opinion," said Erick while attending the anniversary of the State Savings Bank in the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) area, Jakarta, Sunday, March 3.

Even so, Erick was reluctant to reveal who he thought was the most appropriate person to fill the position of Minister of Finance in the Prabowo-Gibran government.

"Wow, I'm not in the position to judge that, there must be an authority that understands better, the four are good," he explained.

For your information, citing from Bloomberg there is a name targeted by Presidential Candidate (Capres) number 02 to become finance minister in his government period. However, Sri Mulyani was not included in the market for ministerial candidates in the Prabowo-Gibran government cabinet.

Previously reported, there were four names targeted by Prabowo, namely Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Deputy Minister of BUMN Kartika Wirjoatmodjo, Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Financial Services Authority Mahendra Siregar, to President Director of BNI Royke Tumilaar.

Bloomberg also said Prabowo would not make the finance minister a political bargaining position. Because, a person who is thorough and understanding is needed in managing the state budget to be placed in that position.
