DJKA Affirms The Identity Of Free Motorcycle Homecoming Participants Via Train Must Match KTP

The Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) firmly states that every free motorbike homecoming vehicle via rail transportation is required to have a name on the STNK in accordance with the identity of the vehicle owner's ID card.

"If the STNK is different from the ID card, can it be done, sir? What is allowed is the original ID card, original STNK (Family Card) with one identity," said Director of Traffic and Train Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation Arif Anwar in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Saturday, March 2.

Arif said that he would only serve free motorbike homecoming if the motorbike had complete documents, namely STNK which was in accordance with the identity of the owner or who brought the vehicle.

So for vehicles that have changed ownership and have not changed their names, they cannot get free motorbike homecoming service facilities for Eid al-Fitr 1445 Hijri from the train.

"The proof is what name is back, right, we can't prove whether it's been bought or not," said Arif.

Arif emphasized that the policy was implemented as a preventive measure to avoid unwanted events such as losing a motorbike.

"For example, if the motorbike is in the name of his wife, the wife's ID card is even on his family card, there is also the name of his wife. So, don't worry why we asked for the original ID card of the original brother and original STNK with one name, the meaning is not to be misused and minimize the possibility of the motorbike being lost and so on," explained Arif.

He said that the importance of consistency between the motorcycle owner data listed in the STNK, KTP, and KK is to maintain security and prevent misuse.

"So actually this is for security as well. For example, the motorbike is late so when you want to take it you have to bring the original document, if the STNK shown is different from the name on the ID card. Please take the name according to the STNK," Arif added.

The Ministry of Transportation provides free motorbike homecoming services for Lebaran 2024, but passengers will be charged a fare of Rp. 10,000 if the trips are below 290 kilometers and Rp. 20,000 if they exceed that distance.

The Ministry of Transportation will start registration of this service since Monday 4 April and will transport free motorbikes starting April 2-8, while for backflow transportation will be carried out on April 13-19, 2024.

The public can register through the official website, namely mudikgratis.dephub.go.id with the first requirement being an ID card, family card, SIM and STNK which are still valid or not tax-dead, and the amount of the motorbike is less than 200 cc.

In addition, the public can also register directly at the 18 stations that have been set, namely Cilegon, Jakarta Gudang, Tangerang, Depok Baru, Bekasi, Kiaracondong, Kutoarjo, Lempuyangan, Purwosari, Semarang Tawang, Madiun, Cirebonprujakan, Tegal, Pekalongan, Purwokerto, Kroya, Gombong, and Kebumen stations.

DJKA also said that only two people can ride the train from the motorbike to be transported, namely motorists and rideers. More than that, it is allowed with the record that the third person is a child under the age of 2.
