JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) inaugurated the groundbreaking of the Telkom Smart Office in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN) today.

Jokowi believes that the presence of the Telkom Smart Office is the first step in strengthening digital connectivity and making IKN a city with world-class technology, information and communication systems.

"This will strengthen digital connectivity, strengthen digital platforms, strengthen digital services for the archipelago, which we aspire to become a city whose world class ICT. I am sure that if Telkom has entered, it is easy to become a smart city working on its e-government will be much easier," Jokowi said as quoted from the official website of the Presidential Secretariat, Friday, March 1.

The Telkom Smart Office will be built on a land area of 0.53 hectares (ha) with an estimated investment of IDR 330 billion.

Later, the project will be carried out in two stages and is targeted to be completed in full by the end of 2026.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Archipelago Capital Authority (OIKN) Bambang Susantono hopes that the synergy between OIKN and Telkom can contribute to accelerating digitalization in the archipelago in various aspects.

On the same occasion, Telkom President Director Ririek Adriansyah emphasized that Telkom Smart Office is Telkom's concrete step in supporting the progress of the national economy through digitalization.

"Digitalization is not just a necessity, but is the main catalyst in encouraging the progress of the national economy," he said.

This development is also the first step in developing complete digital infrastructure, involving Digital Connectivity, Digital Platforms and Digital Services.
