The Ministry Of Transportation Opens Free Homecoming Programs From Buses To Trains, Here's The Complete Schedule

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) will again hold a Free Homecoming Transportation program on Lebaran in 2024. The modes of transportation provided vary from buses, ships to trains.

Spokesperson for the Ministry of Transportation Adita Irawati said that this program was presented to anticipate a surge in people who want to go home using private vehicles, especially motorbikes.

Furthermore, Adita said that this free homecoming program will not only carry passengers but also motorbikes for free. That way it is hoped that the community will be able to use it to move at their destination.

"We invite the public to join the free homecoming program organized by the Ministry of Transportation," he said in an official statement, Friday, March 1.

Furthermore, Adita appealed to the public not to go home on motorbikes, considering the potential danger of accidents is very high. He hopes that the public can use public transportation or take advantage of the free homecoming program.

"We are not bored, we also urge the public not to travel long distances using motorbikes because of the high potential for accidents. We hope that people go home using public transportation or take advantage of this free homecoming program," said Adita.

Departure Schedule For The Ministry Of Transportation's Free Homecoming Program

1. Land Line

Adita said the free homecoming program is available by land, sea, and train, which is held at several transportation nodes. For land routes, the Ministry of Transportation through the Directorate General of Land Transportation held a Free Motorcycle Homecoming with Buses and Trucks program.

"Registration of the Motorcycle Free Homecoming program by Bus can be done through the Mitra Darat application which is planned for March 5 to April 3, 2024," he said.

Adita also said that 722 buses were available for 30,088 passengers and 30 trucks for 900 motorcycles.

"The departure of the homecoming flow will be carried out from April 5 to April 7, 2024, while the departure of the backflow will be carried out on April 14 and 15, 2024," he said.

2. Sea Line

Then, continued Adita, for sea routes, the Directorate General of Sea Transportation held a 'Free Motorcycle Homecoming on A Sea Ship' program, with a quota for 9,800 passengers and 4,800 motorcycles, which is scheduled for April 3 to 17, 2024.

3. Railroad

Adita said the Directorate General of Railways held a 'Free Motorcycle Homecoming on Train' program. Train tickets can be obtained starting March 4 to April 18, 2024.

"There are quotas for 28,196 passengers and 12,180 motorcycles. Departure of homecoming flow will be carried out from April 2 to 8, 2024, while return flow departures will be carried out from April 13 to 19, 2024," he explained.
