Rice Prices Rise, Bulog Disburses Cheap Food In Jakarta And West Java

JAKARTA - Perum Bulog held a low-cost food program in DKI Jakarta and West Java in response to the recent increase in rice prices.

President Director of Perum Bulog Bayu Krisnamurthi said that his party will sell rice market operations or Stabilization of Supply and Food Prices (SPHP), premium rice and other food commodities directly to the public as a form of direct intervention in providing commodities to consumers directly.

"People no longer have difficulty getting cheap food commodities," he said in an official statement, Tuesday, February 20.

Bayu added that the implementation location would be prioritized in densely populated settlements.

"Immediately targeting end consumers such as flats (rusun), sub-district offices, sub-district offices, industrial estates and others," said Bayu.

In addition to the cheap food program, Bulog is also intensively disbursing rice for the Stabilization of Supply and Food Prices (SPHP).

"This is another form of intervention carried out by Bulog to reduce the contraction in prices, so as soon as possible it is hoped that it can reduce the tension of rice prices in the market," he concluded.
