PT PGN Tbk again displays GasKu products, namely gas fuel (BBG) for environmentally friendly vehicles at the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2024.

For information, GasKu is a Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-based BBG product brand managed by PGN's subsidiary, PT Gagas Energi Indonesia.

'GasKu is a product created by SH Gas to support the government's program related to the conversion of fuel to BBG. This product is also more environmentally friendly so that it can become alternative energy for vehicles that are low in emissions. When compared to other fossil fuels, the emissions produced by GasKu are 25 35 percent lower," said PGN Director of Infrastructure and Technology Harry Budi Sidharta in a statement to the media, Thursday, February 15.

Harry added that GasKu customers are dominated by public transportation such as bajaj, angkot, city buses, taxis, and BUMN and local government operational vehicles. Benefits of using lower emission of GasKu can make the engine cleaner. In addition, the smell of smoke is not pungent.

"We will support various parties who want to benefit from the use of BBG through the optimal operation of BBG charging facilities. Like Blue Bird as a conventional taxi company whose fleets use gas fuel, given its environmentally friendly, safe and economical nature. There are also several online taxi drivers and other public transportation such as blue bajaj," said PGN Corporate Secretary Rachmat Hutama.

Rachmat added, in addition to being more environmentally friendly, the use of GasKu is also more efficient at a price of IDR 4,500 per Liter Setara Premium (LSP), with gas sources originating from domestic, so the price is more affordable. Customers can save around 50 percent of energy cost usage. The performance of using GasKu is also equivalent to the use of fuel in motorized vehicles.

Currently, Pertamina has headed to ESG and NZE by presenting environmentally friendly energy, one of which is gas fuel.

"This is the time to fill the energy transition to NZE using these environmentally friendly energies," added Rachmat.

Rachmat said, GasKu can be applied to vehicles that have been installed with a converter kit, so they can use fuel and BBG alternately because there is a switch or dual fuel so as to reduce concerns if they run out of fuel in the middle of the road. Installation of converter kits can be done at a certified installation workshop, such as at the Indonesian Autogas Workshop, South Tangerang BSD Tekno Park and Raja Rafa Samudra Workshop, Pondok Gede, East Jakarta.

The use of BBG for vehicles does not mean replacing the engine. There is a switcher so that vehicles can still use fuel. The addition of BBG to vehicles will support the distance traveled by vehicles, as well as support Pertamina's blue sky' program to realize Net Zero Emission," explained President Director of Gagas Muhammad Hardiansyah.

In 1 tank, CNG gas can be filled with gas up to 15 liters. The gas filling takes 1 2 minute. The average number of vehicles filling up Gas Ku in all SPBG and MRU Gagas reaches 2016 units per day.

Currently, gas stations are available for Jakarta, Bekasi, Bogor, Semarang, Palembang, Balikpapan, Subang, Prabumulih, Sukabumi, Purwakarta, Serang, Cilegon, Lampung, Batam, Surabaya, Gresik and Bandung. The total number of SPBG& MRU Pertamina Group is 72 stations.
