Bulog Starts Salurkan Back Rice Food Aid Throughout Indonesia

JAKARTA - The government through Perum Bulog has again distributed Rice Food Aid throughout Indonesia, after previously being temporarily suspended during the quiet period of the 2024 General Election (Pemilu).

The goal is to avoid politicization of this government program.

For your information, the rice food assistance in the form of 10 kilograms (kg) of rice will be distributed to 22 million Beneficiary Families (KPM).

President Director of Perum Bulog Bayu Krisnamurthi said the distribution of rice food assistance this time was carried out at the Post Office considering that currently village offices are being used for election purposes.

This was conveyed by Bayu when directly monitoring the distribution of Rice Aid at the Sukasari Post Office, Bogor City, February 15. For the Sukasari area, as much as 14,160 kg was disbursed by Bulog.

"We are starting again the distribution of 10 kg of Food Assistance to the community which was carried out at the Sukasari Post Office, Bogor, which happened to be approximately 2 km from my house. Especially today its implementation was distributed through the Post Office because some of the urban villages where Food Aid distribution was still handling the ballot boxes for the election," he said in an official statement, Thursday, February 15.

Bayu said that after the election activities were completed, then the distribution of rice food aid would be carried out again in urban villages.

Furthermore, Bayu emphasized that the distribution of rice food aid after the general election is clear evidence that this rice food aid program has no connection with certain political agendas.

"It can be ascertained that the goal is to help meet the food needs of people in need," he said.

A resident of Muarasari Bogor Village, Wawan (67 years) said that he felt the easier with this rice food assistance.

Because, he and his family don't have to have trouble anymore when they have to look for rice for their family needs.

"Alhamdulillah sir, with this rice food aid, I feel very helped because there is no need to bother looking for rice again, sir," he said.
