KCIC Predicts A Surge In Passengers During The 2024 Election Holiday

PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) predicts an increase in the number ofPORT passengers ahead of the 2024 General Election (Pemilu) holiday which falls on Wednesday, February 14, 2024.

KCIC's GM Corporate Secretary, Eva Chairunisa, did not deny that there was a spike in ticket bookings during this momentum. Ticket bookings are still ongoing today.

"If we look at the order (ticket), it can be until February 14, 2024 and indeed the momentum of the holiday has increased," Eva told reporters at Halim Station, East Jakarta, Saturday, February 10, 2024.

Eva assessed that the characteristics of passengers who boughtASH tickets were indeed mostly done offline or directly at the station. So the number of tickets is predicted to continue to increase.

Even so, Eva has not been able to reveal the target of booking tickets during the upcoming 2024 election holiday momentum.

"We will update it again later because usually the characteristics of booking trains are many go-shows," he said.

He further gave an example that the ticket booking data today (February 10, 2024) has reached 5,000.

However, said Eva, for the total ticket bookings until Sunday, February 11, 2024, it is predicted to reach 18,000.

"On Tuesday, February 6, 2024, bookings may still be 9,000-10,000 tickets. However, on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, (busing) 17,500. Today, we see their characteristics go-show and it increases in the evening," he concluded.
