Jokowi Approves Revision Of Rooftop PLTS Regulations, Here's The Contents

JAKARTA - Director of New and Renewable Energy Anekas (EBT) of the Directorate General of EBTKE of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Andriah Feby Misna revealed that the revision of the Ministerial Regulation (Permen) of Energy and Mineral Resources Number 26 of 2021 concerning Roof Solar Power Plants (PLTS) connected to the Electricity Network for Electric Power Supply Owners for Public Interest has been approved by President Joko Widodo.

"It has been approved by the president. The Minister (ESDM) has signed it. Now it's just a legal process, later when it has been promulgated we will invite socialization," said Feby at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Building, quoted on Tuesday, February 6.

Feby said that this regulation had actually been approved by the president since early January 2024 and contained several things, including increasing the cost of electricity production (BPP) from PT PLN (Persero) to the state if there was an increase.

He added that the regulation also states that the electric capacity generated by the PLTS will be adjusted to consumer needs.

"We are currently concerned because PLN is oversupply, so this Rooftop PLTS is for its own use. So as much as possible the installed capacity will later be used for consumers themselves," explained Feby.

For this reason, he hopes that the community can install a Rooftop PLTS according to their respective needs. On the other hand, there will be a quota set by PLN with the approval of the Directorate General of Energy and Mineral Resources and reviewed by the Directorate General of EBTKE ESDM.

"The consumer installed (PLTS) according to their needs. Later, it will be adjusted to the PLN quota, which will issue the quota set by the Director General of Gatrik after being reviewed by the Directorate General of EBTKE," concluded Feby.
