JAKARTA - The Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas) shared the latest news regarding the fate of the Tuna Block after being left by the Russian oil and gas giant, Zarubezhneft (Zn).

Head of SKK Migas Dwi Soetjipto revealed that until now the farm out process or Zn's exit from the Tuna Block is still in the process of opening data.

"ZN divestment is already in the process of opening data," said Dwi, quoted on Monday, January 5.

Dwi said, during the data opening period, there were many companies that expressed interest in replacing Russia, both companies from within the country and from abroad.

"Some have submitted offers and interest, there are 14 companies if I'm not mistaken. There is a global one," added Dwi.

For this reason, Dwi ensured that the decision to replace Zn in the Tuna Block would be decided in April.

Previously, Deputy for Exploration, Development and Regional Management of SKK Migas Benny Lubiantara said Zarubezhneft (Zn) asked for additional time regarding the release of his participation rights of 50 percent from the Tuna Block.

Zn reasoned, there are many companies that are interested in their participation rights so they are still asking for additional data.

"There are potential buyers, so look at the room data again," said Deputy for Exploration, Development and Regional Management of SKK Migas Benny Lubiantara, quoted Monday, January 15.

However, Benny ensured that the decision regarding the release of the participation rights of the Russian state-owned company would be completed in the 1st quarter of this year.

"Yes, hopefully in the first quarter it will be enough. It's finished. Apparently there are quite a lot of enthusiasts," concluded Benny.
