Gibran Strives For Domestic MSMEs Not To Lose By Competing With Chinese Products

JAKARTA - Candidates for vice president number 2 Gibran Rakabuming Raka are trying micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the country to be no less competitive with products from China which are relatively cheaper.

"We don't want to be on the e-commerce platform, there are goods from China which may cost a quarter or half of our products," said Gibran during a discussion with entrepreneurs and youth communities entitled "Creative City Economics Target" in South Tangerang, Banten, quoted from Antara, Saturday, February 3.

According to Gibran, one of the efforts to advance MSMEs is to apply the digitalization concept to all traders. This can be done by providing training to MSME actors to switch to a digital concept.

In this case, said Gibran, the government has a role to play in providing the training forum.

Not only in the field of training, Gibran also emphasized the importance of providing training for financial bookkeeping to the assistance of capital search.

Especially for young entrepreneurs, Gibran also ensured that the government would provide convenience in building a startup business.

"They, young people, want Bekraf (Creative Economic Agency) to be turned on, licensing capital is facilitated. So, a lot of input from young people and I'm sure here there are many other wild business ideas," he said.

Thus, Gibran believes that the products produced by Indonesian MSME players can compete with foreign products.

The General Election Commission (KPU) of the Republic of Indonesia has determined three participants in the 2024 presidential election, namely the Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar pair number 1, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka number 2, and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD number 3.

The 2024 election campaign period will take place from November 28, 2023 to February 10, 2024. After the campaign period, there will be a calm period on February 11-13. Then, the voting schedule takes place simultaneously on February 14, 2024.
