Welcoming Chinese New Year, Aprindo Bali Gives 15 Percent Discount To Boost Purchasing Power

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Retail Entrepreneurs Association (Aprindo) Bali provides an average discount of up to 15 percent of a number of products to encourage people's purchasing power in welcoming the Lunar New Year holiday.

"The amount of discount varies depending on the product, usually the most is fruit," said Chairman of Aprindo Bali Anak Agung Ngurah Agung Agra Putra in Denpasar, quoted from Antara, Friday, February 2.

There are also discounted prices, he continued, not only for fruit products but also fashion, household appliances and daily necessities, adjusting to retail.

According to him, the discount is expected to encourage sales of each retail because it is closely related to the momentum of the quiet period of tourist visits, which usually during January-February.

Religious holidays including Chinese New Year and facultative (local) holidays of a series of Galungan Holidays in Bali on 27-29 February are expected to encourage sales through discounts.

"Retail spending is usually low in January-February but also helped in February with national holidays to coincide with weekends, there are also local holidays that we hope will increase tourism and have an impact on retail as well," he said.

Meanwhile, a number of modern shops in Bali have started offering discounts, one of which is modern network shops that provide discounts of up to 50 percent for fruit products.

There are also fuji apples, for example, getting a 30 percent discount with a price per kilogram reaching Rp42,300, then mangoes which are also discounted at 30 percent with a price per kilogram reaching Rp35,100 and red dragon fruit discounted at 50 percent.
