JAKARTA - Since the issuance of the Decree of the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Number 15/KPTS/M/2024, PT Hutama Karya (Persero) (Hutama Karya) has operated without a Binjai-Langsa Toll Road, Kuala Bingai Section starting January 29, 2024, at 07.00 WIB.

Since January 29, 2024 until now, Hutama Karya has recorded as many as 8,000 vehicles crossing the toll road.

Executive Vice President (EVP) Corporate Secretary Hutama Karya Tjahjo Purnomo said the implementation of the toll road operation went smoothly with high enthusiasm from toll road users who wanted to pass.

"During the three days of operation, there were 8,000 passing vehicles dominated by private vehicles or Group I," said Tjahjo, quoted from Hutama Karya's official website, Thursday, February 1.

Tjahjo said that the Binjai-Langsa Toll Road Section of Kuala Bingai has also been operated functionally during the 2023 Christmas and 2024 New Year holidays with a total of 100,000 passing vehicles.

"This toll road section is one that is awaited by toll road users because if it is fully connected, this toll road can connect two provinces, namely North Sumatra Province with Aceh Province and vice versa," he said.

He appealed to road users to continue to prepare electronic money cards to tap cards and use one card for one vehicle when entering toll gates even though it has not been effective during the socialization period.

"We convey that part of the Binjai-Langsa Toll Road which has not yet been charged a tariff only from Stabat to Tanjung Pura or vice versa. Therefore, toll road users who cross from Binjai to Stabat or vice versa will still be subject to normal rates," he said.

Previously reported, the Toll Road Business Entity (BUJT) PT Hutama Karya (Persero) or HK will start operating the Binjai-Langsa Toll Road Section Kuala Bingai-Tanjung Pura without tariffs today, Monday, January 29.

Citing information shared by the Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPJT) on its official website, the Kuala Bingai-Tanjung Pura toll road has a total length of 19 kilometers (km).

"PT Hutama Karya will operate without the Binjai-Langsa Toll Road, Kuala Bingai-Tanjung Pura Section for 19 km starting January 29, 2024, at 07.00 WIB," wrote BPJT management.
