Erick Thohir Asks ID Food To Boost Food Industrialization

JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir asked the Food SOE Holding, ID Food to boost domestic food industrialization. This is because the food sector has made a big contribution to gross domestic product (GDP).

Erick also summoned the ID FOOD Board of Directors to his office to discuss the strategic steps that must be taken in the future. The discussion was held yesterday.

"I had a meeting with ID FOOD to discuss food industrialization strategies," said Erick through his Instagram account @erick.thohir, quoted Friday, January 19.

Erick emphasized that as a company that focuses on the food business, ID FOOD must be able to map or map to place the company's position.

"What does that mean? Please map the ID FOOD position where are you going?" Erick wrote.

Erick said that the industrialization of food in Indonesia must be realized. Erick believes that if you focus on the advantages you have, ID FOOD can contribute more to the national economy.

"God willing, by focusing on the advantages we have, we can contribute more to (economic) growth and community welfare," he said.

Erick also said that the food sector is the main focus of the current government, after previously formulating a road map for the development of the digital economy and national tourism.

There is also a digital economy, tourism and creative industry. Now, we are entering the ID FOOD, we actually have to encourage food industrialization again. From the population growth of up to 315 million later, then our GDP will increase in 2028, then it means that the middle income will increase, the nutritional needs of Indonesians will increase," he explained.
