JAKARTA - The Directorate General of New Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation (EBTKE) announced a number of achievements throughout 2023.
Acting Director General of EBTKE Jisman P Hutajulu said the government is committed to continuing to increase the use of EBTKE in order to realize clean and sustainable energy.
"The increase in the use of EBTKE is the government's effort to reduce dependence on fossil energy and preserve the environment," said Jisman at a press conference, Thursday, January 18.
Jisman explained, based on data from the Directorate General of EBTKE, the realization of the installed capacity of EBT power plants in 2023 reached 13,155 megawatts (MW) or 13.16 GW, including the Bayu Power Plant (PLTB) of 154.3 MW, solar power plants (PLTS) (ground mounted, floating and roofed PLTS) of 573.8MW, PLT Bio (biomassa, biogas, waste): 3,195.4 MW, PLTP (earth heat) of 2,417.7 MW, PLTA of 6,784.2 MW and PLT Gas Batu Coal by 30.0 MW.
Jisman added that the realization of the use of biodiesel for domestic purposes reached 12.2 million kiloliters (KL) in 2023.
This realization exceeds 114.5 percent of the target set at 10.65 million KL in 2023.
In addition, the Government also continues to diversify the type of BBN in Indonesia, such as utilizing Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) Bioavtur J2.4, Market trial bioethanol and imposing standard provisions and quality for bioethanol gasoline to be marketed domestically.
"This increase in the use of biodiesel is an important step to realize national energy security and reduce greenhouse gas emissions," continued Jisman.
In addition, continued Uisman, the government noted that the co-firing program had been applied in 43 locations for Steam Power Plants (PLTU) from 42 location targets by 2023.
This program is carried out by mixing biomass, such as wood powder, palm shell, and garbage, with coal as fuel for PLTU.
The Directorate General of EBTKE, continued Jisman, contributed to state revenues through PNBP in 2023 consisting of geothermal PNBP with a realization of IDR 3.1 trillion, consisting of fixed geothermal contributions of IDR 0.04 trillion; geothermal royalties of IDR 0.1 trillion; geothermal entrepreneurship of IDR 2.99 trillion.

Jisman said the government would continue to encourage the development of EBTKE to achieve the energy mix target of 23 percent by 2025.
"The government will continue to be committed to developing EBTKE as an effort to realize sustainable energy development," concluded Jisman.
