JAKARTA - The government through the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Kemenko Marves) targets the number of participants in the World Water Forum (WWF) 2024 to reach 30,000 people.

"The target number of participants is 30,000 people, including 33 heads of state, 190 ministers, 180 countries, 250 organizations and 214 sessions," said Deputy for Coordination of Environmental and Forestry Management at the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs Nani Hendiarti in a press conference entitled "Water Security and Prosperity" online on Tuesday, January 9.

Nani said President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) together with the Chairperson of the WWF 2024 National Committee, namely the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Menko Marves) Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan himself is in the process of inviting 33 heads of state.

"However, usually those who will attend from these 30,000 people we target 180 countries and also 250 organizations that will attend, and most of them are included in the World Water Council membership," he said.

"Both in the country there are around 52 countries and these 250 are included in the World Water Council members who will usually attend," he continued.

He added that later on the agenda there will be around 214 sessions displayed.

"Here, there will be a lot of sessions, and it will be divided into thematic, regional and political," he said.
