JAKARTA - The Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) through the Riau Provincial Government (Pemprov) targets an investment that goes to Pekanbaru City of IDR 4.4 trillion by 2024, while the Pekanbaru City Government (Pemko) target is IDR 4.9 trillion.

"So in 2024 there are two targets, from the city government Rp4.9 trillion and Rp4.4 trillion from the BKPM," said Head of the Pekanbaru City Investment and One Stop Integrated Service (DPM-PTSP) AKmal Khairi in Pekanbaru, quoted from Antara, Monday, January 8.

Akmal further admitted that he was optimistic that the targets set by the Indonesian BKPM and the Pekanbaru City Government would be achieved later. The reason is that if it is based on investments that enter in 2023, until the third quarter alone it has reached Rp5,265 trillion.

This amount is about 106 percent of the target set by the Indonesian BKPM in 2023, which is IDR 4.95 trillion. This does not include the investment achievement in the fourth quarter of 2023 which is still being calculated.

"What is clear is that the achievement or total investment that goes to Pekanbaru in 2023 far exceeds the set target," said Akmal.

He conveyed, the largest investment that came from the first quarter to the third quarter of 2023 came from Domestic Investment (PMDN) amounting to Rp4,766 trillion. Meanwhile, Foreign Investment (PMA) amounted to Rp499 billion.

He said there were 4,018 projects or activities from the incoming investment of Rp5,265 trillion. Which for PMDN is 3,759 projects and PMA 259 projects.

"Of the 4,018 PMDN and PMA projects, it has absorbed 10,379 workers," said Akmal.
