Up Three Percent, Number Of Flights At AP II Airport Reaches 30 Thousand Throughout The Christmas And New Year Period

PT Angkasa Pura II recorded that the number of flights at its managed airports reached 30,573 during the Christmas 2023 and New Year 2024 periods. This number increased by 3 percent compared to last year.

In addition to the number of flights, AP II also cumulatively served up to 4.20 million airplane passengers during that period. In fact, this number exceeds the target set of 4.04 million passengers.

AP II VP of Corporate Communications Cin Asmoro said the collaboration between all stakeholders made AP II airports able to meet high demand for air travel by the end of 2023.

"We are grateful that the implementation of Christmas 2'2023 and New Year's 2024 transportation at AP II airports went well and smoothly thanks to the collaboration of all stakeholders," said Cin Asmoro in an official statement, Sunday, January 7.

Cin also said that the realization of airplane passengers on Christmas 2023 and New Year 2024 transportation also increased by around 12 percent compared to Christmas 2022 and New Year 2023, which recorded 3.74 million passengers.

"Cumulatively, the number of flights at AP II airports on Christmas 2023 and New Year 2024 transportation also increased by 3 percent compared to Christmas 2022 and New Year 2023 or from 29,604 flights to 30,573 flights," said Cin.

Cin said that during the Christmas 2023 and New Year 2024 periods, a number of airlines also operated additional flights or extra flights at AP II airports. The total extra flight operated by airlines at AP II airports reached 1,443 extra flights.

Although the busyness of flight traffic has increased, Cin said AP II airports with airlines can maintain the level of flight timeliness or on time performance (OTP). Where, OTP at AP II airports on average reaches 80 percent.
