A Total Of 10,918 Vehicles Passed On The Bangkinang-Koto Toll Road During The Christmas And New Year Period

PT Hutama Karya (Persero) noted that 10,918 vehicles had crossed the Bangkinang-Koto Toll Road from the period of the 2023 Christmas holiday to the 2024 New Year holiday, or on December 23, 2023 to January 1, 2024.

"For more than a week of operation, the toll road connecting Riau Province and West Sumatra Province has been passed by a total of 10,918 vehicles," said Executive Vice President (EVP) Corporate Secretary Hutama Karya Tjahjo Purnomo in his official statement, Wednesday, January 3.

Tjahjo said, during more than a week of operation, no road users complained about traffic density and no fatality or accidents.

"Alhamdulillah, while operating, toll road users comply with the applicable regulations and signs, it is estimated that users in the Riau area are familiar with toll roads. Considering that previously the Pekanbaru-Dumai and Pekanbaru-Bangkinang toll roads had already been operated," he said.

As for the flow of the 2023 Christmas and New Year 2024 holidays, Hutama Karya operates 589 kilometers (km) of the Trans Sumatra Toll Road (JTTS), consisting of 9 JTTS sections that have operated at a rate, namely the Terbanggi Besar-Kayu Agung Toll Road (189 km), Palembang-Indralaya Toll Road (21.93 km), Bengkulu-Taba Tanjung Toll Road (17.8 km), Pekanbaru-Dumai Toll Road (131 km), and Pekanbaru-Bangkinang Toll Road (31 km).

Then, there is the Binjai-Langsa Section 1 (Binjai-Stabat) (11 km) toll road, the Sigli-Banda Aceh (Seulimeum-Blang Bintang) (35.85 km) toll road, and two (2) toll roads located on the island of Java, namely the JORR-S (14.25 km) toll road and Tanjung Priok Access (11.4 km).

Furthermore, there are five (5) segments that are still not tariff or free, namely the Indralaya-Prabumulih Toll Road (64.5 km), the Binjai-Langsa Toll Road (Stabat-Kuala Bingai) (8 km), the Indrapura-Five Puluh (15 km) Toll Road, the Sigli-Banda Aceh Toll Road (Blang Bintang- Baitussalam) (12.7 km), and the Indrapura-Tebing Tinggi Toll Road (26.23 km) managed by PT Hutama Marga Waskita (Hamawas).

Hutama Karya appealed to all road users to drive in accordance with the rules and regulations applicable on toll roads. Driving at a minimum speed of 60 km/hour and a maximum of 100 km/hour on toll roads operating and 40 km/hour on functional toll roads and not using the shoulder of the road except in an emergency.

Road users are asked to immediately rest at the nearest resting place if they feel sleepy, and if there are complaints or see a crime on the toll road, they should immediately report to the Call Center of each toll road or continue to monitor the information through the Hutama Karya toll road social media at @HKTollIndonesia.
