JAKARTA - PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk recorded as many as 376,949 vehicles leaving the Jabotabek area in the period D-3 to D-2 New Year's Holiday 2024. Jasa Marga's Corporate Communication and Community Development Group Head Lisye Octaviana said the figure was the cumulative number of traffic flows (traffic) from the four Barrier / Main Toll Gates (GT), namely GT Cikupa (towards Merak), GT Ciawi (towards Puncak), and GT Cikampek Utama (towards Trans Java) and GT Kalihurip Utama (towards Bandung). Meanwhile, the total volume of traffic leaving the Jabotabek area increased by 13.24 percent when compared to normal traffic of 332,883 vehicles in the same period. When compared to the same period last year ahead of the 2023 New Year, this total traffic volume increased by 8.78 percent or 346,512 vehicles. Meanwhile, for the distribution of traffic leaving Jabotabek heading to three directions, the majority were 186,797 vehicles or 49.55 percent headed East (Trans Java and Bandung), 97,989 vehicles or 26.00 percent headed West (Merak) and 92,163 vehicles or 24.45 percent headed South (Puncak). According to Lisye, the peak of the return flow for the 2023 Christmas and New Year holidays in 2024 is predicted to fall on Monday, January 1, 2024. In addition, the majority of vehicles returning to Jabotabek are predicted to come from the East or from the direction of Trans Java and Bandung which reached 140 thousand vehicles, this number is up 28 percent from the peak of homecoming in the same period last year.
