A Total Of 2.4 Million Vehicles Cross 3 ASII Toll Roads During The 2023 Christmas Holiday

JAKARTA - Astra Infra Group noted that more than 2.4 million vehicles had crossed the toll road belonging to the PT Astra International Tbk (ASII) entity during the 2023 Christmas Day period.

A total of 2,404,938 vehicles have crossed three Astra Infra toll roads, namely the Tangerang-Merak Toll Road, the Cikopo-Palimanan Toll Road and the Jombang-Mojokerto Toll Road during 18-25 December 2023.

The volume of vehicles rose by about 6 percent when compared to last year's Christmas period.

"To support and ensure the smooth journey of the 2023 Christmas and New Year 2023 holidays, Astra Infra Group continues to improve coordination and synergy with the police, the Ministry of Transportation and the Ministry of PUPR," said Head of the Astra Infra 2023 Christmas and New Year Task Force Rinaldi in a written statement, quoted Wednesday, December 27.

As for the details, as many as 410,732 vehicles crossed the Tangerang-Merak toll road through the Cikupa Toll Gate (GT), an increase of about 9.18 percent when compared to normal daily traffic.

Specifics on December 25, 2023, there were 42,575 vehicles entering Cikupa GT towards Merak.

The number of vehicles decreased by 3.95 percent compared to the previous day or on Christmas Eve.

In order to anticipate the queue at GT Cikupa, an additional tandem substation has been added, officers assisting with tapping and officers in charge of directing vehicles have been added.

Meanwhile, as many as 93,686 vehicles had passed out of GT Merak during the period D-7 until Christmas Day.

Daily traffic in the exit direction was recorded at 11,711 vehicles, an increase of 25.64 percent when compared to normal days.

Then on the Cikopo-Palimanan (Cipali) Toll Road, there were 719,130 passing vehicles during the Christmas 2023 and New Year 2024 periods.

This figure increased by 17.5 percent when compared to the same period last year.

Traffic volume was recorded on December 25, 2023, decreased by 4.29 percent when compared to the previous day, while the number of vehicles heading to Cirebon also fell by 36 percent.

Even so, the number of vehicles heading to Jakarta has increased by 25 percent compared to December 24, 2023.

Furthermore, for the Jombang-Mojokerto toll road, the total volume of vehicles passing is 362,152 or an increase of 2.98 percent compared to the 2022 Christmas period.

At the peak of the flow of homecoming for Christmas Day or December 23, 2023, 66,733 vehicles had passed.

"We also urge road users to be smart in carrying out vacation travel plans, such as preparing vehicle conditions and body health, maintaining speed limits and safe distance, preparing e-toll balances, and complying with signs and directions from officers in the field," he added.
