Provide 2.8 Million Seats, New Nataru Train Tickets Sold 44 Percent

JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api (Persero) or KAI noted that long-distance train tickets for the 2023 Christmas and 2024 New Year (Nataru) periods had only sold 44 percent of the total provided, namely 2.8 million.

The tickets were sold as of Monday, December 18.

KAI itself set the period for Christmas and New Year's Transportation to take place from December 21, 2023 to January 7, 2024.

"Based on data on Monday, December 18, 2023, at 07.00 WIB. Tickets sold were 1,260,792 tickets or 44 percent of the total tickets provided, namely 2,865,276 long, medium and local train tickets managed by KAI," he said in an official statement, Monday, December 18.

The details, continued Joni, are that the executive class is 306,518 tickets sold out of a capacity of 860,346 available seats.

Then, business class 40,893 tickets were sold out of a capacity of 130,420 seats.

Then, the economic class 917,475 tickets from the capacity of 1,888,122 seats.

Joni said the number of tickets sold would continue to increase considering ticket sales are still ongoing.

Furthermore, Joni said, the public can already buy regular long-distance train tickets that are available in the Access by KAI application, the kai.id website, minimarkets, and all train ticket purchase channels starting from H-45.

Ticket purchases at the station counters are only available for train departures starting three hours or going show.

"People can immediately book tickets because there are still quite a lot of train tickets for Christmas and New Year's periods available," he said.

Based on the analysis, Joni said that ticket sales were the highest on the flow of homecoming for the Christmas holidays on December 23, 2023 with a total of 139,455 passengers. Meanwhile, the highest ticket sales were in return on December 26, 2023 with a total of 102,937 passengers.
