"So, indeed there are CH-type bridges that are 30 years old or even more, yesterday we did replacements," said Director General of Highways of the Ministry of PUPR Hedy Rahadian at the Nataru Preparation press conference "Nataru Road Arrangement Scheme and Alternative & Toll Road Readiness which was held online," quoted on Saturday, December 16.
Hedy revealed that as many as 37 old bridges were spread across four provinces, namely Banten, West Java, Central Java, and East Java. He also targets the completion of the repair of these bridges on 19 December.

In addition, said Hedy, the Ministry of PUPR has also completed the repair of a number of broken bridges and were affected by landslides. Two of them are the Cikereteg Bridge which is located on the Bogor-Sukabumi Line, as well as landslides located on the Cibalok Bridge, Bogor. "We have also handled that so that it can function," he said.
Launching the official website of the Ministry of PUPR, the Callender Hamilton Bridge (CH) began construction in Indonesia in the mid-1970s. The bridge is planned to be able to bear 100 percent of the Standard Burden of Highways in 1970.
The CH bridge is planned to be so economical that it produces dimensions of the trunk frame relatively small when compared to other types of steel frame bridges, such as the Dutch, Austrian and Australian steel frames.
