Director General of Railways, Risal Wasal, said that the implementation of the 7th SO was part of the development of the central station. The 7th SO is carried out in two stages.

Risal said that the user's entry and exit access has also been connected to the corridor to other public transportation services.
"After the transfer of access in and out of this user, users will no longer pass on the active train line so that it can improve the safety and comfort of users," he said.
Commuter Line Travel Path Changed
Furthermore, continued Risal, Phase 2 of the 7th SO will be carried out by activating the new 1 and 2 lanes along with the platform. With the activation of the new route, the numbering of lanes at Manggarai Station will undergo changes that will be effective starting December 17, 2023.
On the ground floor (at grade track) becomes lane 1 to lane 8 which is intended for Commuter Line Cikarang and Commuter Line Basoetta trips and long-distance trains.
Meanwhile, the Commuter Line Bogor has not changed and continues to use the same platform.
"The travel time and train queue will also decrease significantly after the 7th SO Phase 2 because later the Commuter Line journey will be operated on a double lane on the Manggarai-Jatinegara route, from the previous single lane," said Risal.
In addition to reducing travel time, Risal also said that with the 7th SO Phase 2, the passenger displacement area will also be wider.

"In the early days after the 7th SO, we have prepared officers to guide the flow of passengers so that the adaptation of passengers can run smoothly and not cause confusion," said Risal.
Meanwhile, KAI Commuter President Director Asdo Artriviyanto reminded all Commuter Line users to pay attention to the numbers for the Commuter Line departure routes at Manggarai Station.
"With this change in departure and track number, pay attention to the train track number again and follow directions from officers at the station," said Asdo.
Asdo also said that with the implementation of the 7th SO Manggarai Station, Commuter Line user services were also increasing.
"With a fairly wide area of user entry and exit, KAI Commuter will operate as many as 9 electronic gates for the process of taping in and tapping out of Commuter Line users," said Asdo.
