The Ministry Of Transportation Will Review The Proposal For Additional Fast Train Stations In Kopo

JAKARTA - Director General of Railways of the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) Risal Wasal said that his party would review the proposal for adding a rubber train station in the Kopo area, Bandung.

Furthermore, Risal said, the proposal for additional stations needs to be studied in depth because there are many elements that must be considered. Starting from distance to travel time.

"There are proposals, we need to study. We can't decide like that. We're talking about fast trains, talking about travel time, distance," he said when met at Halim LRT Station, Jakarta, Thursday, December 7.

Moreover, continued Risal, the addition of this new station will involve many stakeholders, including land owners who will be affected by the development.

"The land owner is also in that position so we can't talk much," explained Risal.

Risal said, the proposed location for the construction of the new fast train station is located at Miko Mall, Kopo. Therefore, Risal said he would review how likely the shopping center could be transformed into a station.

"We will ask later, we have not arrived there. There are proposals that will prepare at Miko Mall. If it is possible to offer it and it could be a station, we need to review it first," he said.

Previously, Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko expressed his views on the addition of therapidish high-speed train station in the Kopo area, Bandung.

In fact, Moeldoki also admitted that he had discussed with PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC), PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI, including representatives from the Ministry of Transportation and the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs.

"Please arrest this choice. Of course this authority is in KCIC. Because the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train should not really stop in Bandung," said Moeldoko.

Moeldoki also said that KSP will continue to coordinate with ministries/agencies related to the study of the addition of the new station for this luxury high-speed train.

For your information, currently the HIGH Speed Train has four stopping stations, namely Staisun Halim, Karawang Station, Padalarang Hub Station, and Tegalluar Station.

Currently, high-speed train passengers who want to go to Bandung can get off at Padalarang Hub Station and then switch to the Feeder Train (KA) to Bandung City.
