AP II Projects Number Of Passengers To Increase By 8 Percent In The Nataru Period 2024

JAKARTA - PT Angkasa Pura II projects that the number of airplane passengers will increase by 8 percent during the 2023 Christmas and 2024 New Year holidays.

Acting President Director of AP II Wendo Asrul Rose said that his party is ready to serve public air travel in the Nataru 2024 period.

"In terms of corporations, if we look at the prediction or projected traffic in the 2023-2024 arrangement process, it is estimated that it will increase by 8 percent from the original year 2022 3.7 million passengers will become 4 million passengers," he said in a hearing with Commission VI of the DPR, written Tuesday, December 5.

In fact, Wendo said that in December 2023, it is predicted that it will be the peak of AP II's largest passenger traffic throughout 2023, reaching 7.5 million people.

"The traffic project in December is expected to be the largest traffic throughout 2023 where at last Eid there were 7.4 million passengers in July and it is estimated that this December will be 7.5 million passengers," he said.

To anticipate the surge in passengers in the Nataru period, Wendo said a number of airlines had submitted applications for additional flights to AP II.

It was recorded, continued Wendo, as of November 30, AP II had received 456 additional flight applications or extra flights for aircraft movements.

"We also inform you that currently based on reports from the current readiness of flight operators there are 444 aircraft operating and the number is currently conducting maintenance of 139," he said.

In the Nataru 2024 period, PT Angkasa Pura II will increase the operating hours of airports at five airports under the management of AP II.

The five airports in question are Supadio International Airport, Pontianak; Minangkabau International Airport, Padang; Depati Amir Airport, Pangkal Pinang; Kertajati International Airport, Majelengka; and Raden Inten II Airport, Tanjung Karang.
