JAKARTA - The Pre-Employment Card Program will again hold the Indonesia Skills Week (ISW) on December 8-15, 2023 with hundreds of more diverse free trainings and can be accessed by all people.
In addition to promoting learning throughout life or living long learning, ISW this December was also present to encourage continuity of programs and institutions, with the goal of beyond 2024, to present an Indonesian training house that prioritizes technology in the future.
The Pre-Employment Private Sector Ecosystem Development Manager, Krisna Kiwana Waditra, said that the ISW program must continue to run continuously every two months, because it is in accordance with the spirit of pre-employment, namely relying on the strength of the ecosystem.
"This is a very large partner strength, there are more than 200 training institutions, six digital platforms, six payment partners, and four job platforms, of course its strength is very large, so this provides diversity in terms of the number of trainings," said Ferdy, quoted Tuesday, December 5.
If the Pre-Employment Program is organized by the government to increase public-scale capacity or upskilling, and is limited to certain groups, then ISW is present as an event held every two months, and can be accessed by all levels of society, including the State Civil Apparatus (ASN), TNI, Polri, and alumni of Pre-Employment.
Ferdy also explained, at the ISW event in December this time, Prakerja embraced various strategic stakeholders, and collaborated with many parties to be able to provide benefits to the public, which is part of expanding and facilitating access for the workforce.
Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), Indonesia's total workforce currently stands at 140 million, while there are only 17.5 million new Pre-Employment recipients. BPS also found that from the workforce, only about 10 percent of those who had just received training, while the other 90 percent had not received professional training.
With this ISW program, the public has the right to get various types of training to improve skills, both hard skills and non-technical skills (soft skills).
The requirements to participate in ISW are quite easy, participants only need to have a Pre-Employment account, then enter, and just choose what training is in demand.
Meanwhile, the Pre-Employment Public Sector Ecosystem Development Manager, Ferdy Fabian said, this program is limited within one week to see how much interest is from the community, as well as in terms of training institutions, so that the training presented can be more equitable to reach the community.
Although in every training, of course there are their respective enthusiasts, ISW is here to provide the same benefits for the community.
"So participants can now register directly, when they later register on their Pre-Employment account, they choose the training, vouchers are immediately given to registered e-mails, and they can immediately attend the training according to what they took," said Ferdy.
The training scheme at ISW in December this time, which is free forever, free while at ISW (when outside paid, but in ISW free), then the price outside is high, and when entering ISW it becomes a price of IDR 20,000, and finally, the high price outside, but when entering ISW is given a minimum big discount of 50 percent.
"If they participate in free ones, they can immediately take part in the training, if they participate in the Rp. 20,000, they will be taken to the training institution's website, they can immediately follow the directions there. So the process can now be immediately fast," he continued.
As for the diversity of training, every two months, Prakerja always strives for diversity, and in December, there are 12 training categories that will continue to be added by coordinating with training institutions, both those that have existed in the ecosystem, and those that have not.
"We encourage them to continue to provide training (submits) at ISW, because this is an event for them to join the ecosystem, as well as an event for the community to practice," said Ferdy.
Pre-employment also continues to collaborate with stakeholders in training institutions to join the ecosystem and encourage them to present other more attractive training to increase diversity.
From the results of the ISW in October, it was recorded that there were many registrants who were not pre-employment beneficiaries, indicating that the ISW program had a greater impact on the community.
Pre-Employment Public Communication Manager, Tito Sianipar explained that this ISW is in accordance with the spirit of Pre-Employment to continue to develop and be relevant in accordance with advances in the world of work.
"Because, from Pre-Employment, the spirit is that we should not stagnate, so learning must be continuous, improvised continuously, if we look at data like this, that is more data that is not received, that is what we really want to continue to be developed," said Tito.
For the ISW theme in December 2023, it has also been adapted to the trend that occurs. December is synonymous with career reflection, and determinations towards the following year whether a worker will continue his career in the same job or switch to another career, or may even decide to quit his job and continue his entrepreneurship.
"In December, usually people's interest tends to think more, in 2023 my career is correct or not, happy or happy at work now, then later there will be themes that are not only technical, but also how do we have discussions, for example, how to find passions?" he said.

ISW in December is not limited by quotas, is open to the public, and free, as long as participants have a Pre-Employment account.
