Commission VI Of The House Of Representatives Asks Erick To Continue Financial Restucation In The Infrastructure And Health Sector

JAKARTA - Commission VI of the DPR asked the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir to continue the financial restructuring of state-owned companies in the infrastructure and health sectors.

This was conveyed by the chairperson of the meeting who is also Deputy Chairman of Commission VI of the DPR Aria Bima during a working meeting with SOE Minister Erick Thohir at the DPR Building, Jakarta, Monday, December 4.

"Commission VI asks the Ministry of SOEs to continue the financial and vision restructuring of SOEs, especially in the infrastructure and health sectors," Bima said when reading the conclusions of the working meeting.

Commission VI, continued Bima, also asked the Ministry of SOEs under Erick's leadership to continue the completion of infrastructure projects, including national strategic projects (PSN).

Furthermore, Bima assessed that the sustainability of PSN, such as the Trans Sumatra toll road, special economic zone (SEZ), and ports will support Indonesia's economic growth.

"Commission VI also asked the Ministry of SOEs to sharpen business focus in order to increase the contribution and value creation, among others, to BUMN food and IBC," he said.

Bima said Commission VI of the DPR also asked the SOE holding agenda to strengthen financial capacity and competitive advantages must be a focus in the future. This targets a number of programs such as BUMN aviation, consolidating the Telkom data center business, and Danareksa.

"Commission VI encourages the Ministry of SOEs to downstream SOE products to add value and raw materials through the completion of refinery and smelter construction," said Bima.

Meanwhile, Member of Commission VI of the DPR Herman Khaeron also appreciated Erick's hard work in bringing changes to BUMN. According to Herman, the progress of SOE progress has been seen in recent years.

"I praise Mr. Erick for his performance. In addition to activities that are actually busy and time-consuming as Chairman of PSSI, PSSI has also improved," said Herman.

"For example, about financial restructuring, which was mostly hit before the pandemic, then entered the pandemic. This is not easy, this restructuring should also be part of the government's responsibility," he continued.
