The Ministry Of Industry Reveals These 2 Factors Make The Industry Trust Index Stuck At 52.43

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) revealed that the industrial confidence index (IKI) level should be higher than the acquisition that has been achieved.

It is known, IKI in November 2023 was at 52.43 points. This position increased by 1.73 points from the October position which was recorded at 50.70.

Spokesperson for the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) Febri Hendri Antoni Arif assessed that actually IKI could be higher. However, he said, there are two things that cause IKI to only be at 52.43.

"Actually, IKI in November 2023 could be higher than 52.43," said Febri in a November release of IKI's assessment at the Ministry of Industry, Jakarta, Thursday, November 30.

According to Febri, the first factor is because certain natural gas price programs (HGBT) have not gone well.

"We have seen and have listened to reports that there is an industry participating in the HGBT program that has purchased gas above 6 US dollars per MMBTU," he said.

Febri said the second factor was controlling imported goods that had not yet been effective in the field.

The reason, he said, is that the Ministry of Industry still encounters a lot of imported goods circulating, especially for textile products.

Thus, production in the textile sub-sector industry is suffering, and the IKI level is also experiencing contraction.

"These two things explain that IKI November 2023 should be much higher than 52.43," he added.
