JAKARTA - PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGAS) targets an increase in natural gas sales by four percent by 2024.

PGN Sales and Operations Director Ratih Esti Prihatini said the company's decision to increase the target was due to the push for additional gas supply from Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE) Jambi Merang and Pertamina Jabung LNG which allocated liquefied natural gas (LNG) for PGN.

Not only that, PGN also received additional gas supplies from Pertamina EP Cepu (PEPC) Jambaran Tiung Biru, Pangkah, and Muria.

"Regarding the target of natural gas sales, we are targeting an increase of 4 percent compared to 2023," Esti said at the 2023 Public Expose Live Press Conference, Wednesday, November 29.

Esti added, to increase gas sales, PGAS will also make efforts to acquire customers through market penetration, market development, gas management development (jargas), bundling schemes with commercial customers and development products.

Just so you know, until Quarter III, natural gas flow in the transmission business of 1,444 MMSCFD managed to grow by eight percent.

This is due to the flow of gas in the Gresik-Semarang Transmission Pipeline. The volume of natural gas trading has also grown by five percent or to 935 BBTUD where the number of customers reaches more than 839,000 with the largest volume of power plants, chemical industries, ceramics, food and fertilizers.

One of the reasons for the increase in trading volume is because the average gas price sold by PGN is very competitive when compared to other fuels such as HSD (equivalent to 41.18 US dollars per MMBTU), LPG 12 kg (equivalent to 26.20 US dollars per MMBTU) or MFO (equivalent to 33.74 US dollars per MMBTU).
