Distribution Of Electric Motors Far From Target, Aismoli: Diler Is Not Even In Indonesia

JAKARTA - The distribution of electric motorcycles is still far from the target set by the government. In fact, the government itself has provided a subsidy of IDR 7 million.

It seems that the government's policy is not enough to attract people to switch to electric vehicles.

Citing SISAPIRa's official website, Wednesday, November 29, the number of electric motor distributions has only reached 4,148 units to date. The target planned by the government itself is to reach 200,000 units by the end of 2023.

Related to this, General Chairperson (Ketum) of the Indonesian Electric Motorcycle Industry Association (Aismoli) Budi Setiyadi said, there were several obstacles in receiving electric motorcycles that had not yet reached the target. One of them is the uneven distribution throughout Indonesia.

"In my opinion, the internal aspect is that the dealers are not evenly distributed in all regions (Indonesia)," said Budi at the Smesco Building, Jakarta, Wednesday, November 29.

Budi admitted that he had just been contacted by one of the consumers who wanted to buy an electric motorbike from the Jember area, East Java. However, there are no dealers in the area who sell the electric motorbike.

"I got a call this morning from Jember and asked, 'I want to buy a subsidized electric motorbike'. Apparently, in Jember there is not yet, even though it is a big city in East Java," he said.

Therefore, said Budi, his party will encourage brand-holding agents (APM), especially those who have become members of Aismoli to immediately cooperate. The hope is that, he continued, later all electric motorcycle brands can quickly enter market penetration.

"Then from here there is a B2B scheme established," he said.

According to Budi, from the industrial aspect and the use by the community, the government has provided red carpets to associations and electric motorcycle brands.

"Now is how we want (to carry out) the right strategy, and to accuracy so that people's trust in electric motors (increases). Now there are many questions, namely where the electric motor is damaged by the workshop," he added.
