"Indonesia's participation in this agenda is a form of our support for the national halal industry so that it can be better known in the world. In the future, we hope that more halal industries can be brought to international events to expand their wings to the global halal market," said Head of the Center for Halal Industrial Empowerment. Ministry of Industry Mohammad Ari Kurnia Taufik in his official statement, quoted Wednesday, November 29.

During this event, 18 exhibition participants in the Indonesian pavilion displayed a variety of national halal products, such as food and beverages, chocolate, traditional drinks, herbal supplements, home care products, cosmetics, and modest fashion.

In addition to displaying various halal products, the presence of the Ministry of Industry on the agenda of The 10th OIC Halal Expo and World Halal Summit was also strengthened by the implementation of the Indonesia Business Forum on November 25, 2023 as a forum for inter-companies business meetings.

Until the end of The 10th OIC Halal Expo 2023, the Indonesian Pavilion managed to record a commitment to purchase between companies (B2B) of US$670,000 or Rp. 10.4 billion, as well as a number of potential further cooperation with potential partners, both within the scope of Islamic Cooperation Organization (OKI) and non-OKI countries.

The main features of the attraction of this pavilion are the existence of a batik demonstration platform, a traditional drink brewing table, and the availability of adequate Turkish translator.

As an important pillar of Indonesia's economic growth, the development of the halal industry and the sharia economy has the potential to increase GDP by 5.1 billion US dollars.

To date, Indonesia is ranked ninth largest exporter country for member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), with a contribution of around 8.6 billion US dollars from halal products.

Lebih dari itu, terbuka pula peluang ekspor produk halal Indonesia senilai 1,95 miliar dolar AS ke negara-negara anggota OKI dan sekitar 1,63 juta dolar AS ke negara-negara non-OKI.

This shows a huge potential for national halal products to be able to penetrate the global market, especially with international promotional support.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Industry (Menperin) Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita welcomed the participation of the winners of the Indonesia Halal Industry Awards (IHYA) 2023 at the event.

According to Agus, this is done in order to accelerate and provide stimulation for industry players to start producing halal-based products.
