JAKARTA - PT Pertamina Lubricants (PTPL) and PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for Industrial Lubricant Development as a strategic step to meet lubricant needs in all SIG Group operational activities.

The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding was carried out by the Director of Sales and Marketing of PT Pertamina Lubricants, Sari Istiani Rachmi and Director of Operations SIG, Reni Wulandari.

This collaboration is a form of strengthening the synergy of SOEs which will open up opportunities for various forms of advanced cooperation, including joint research and joint product development lubricant and fat (gree) for the operational needs of the SIG Group, and comprehensive testing at the Lubricants Technology Center (LTC) facility owned by PTPL.

In addition, this collaboration is also a forum for knowledge sharing and data transfer to accelerate product innovation from each company. LTC is the first lubricant research and innovation center in Indonesia equipped with modern facilities and professional human resources with more than 200 test parameters and a competent product development team.

PTPL's Sales and Marketing Director, Sari Istiani Rachmi said this collaboration would be an important step in encouraging research and innovation in the lubricant industry, which is predicted to grow by 3% every year. In this case, PTPL not only formulates oils that match the specifications and work of machines in the operational units of the SIG Group, but also meet global standards.

"We understand the importance of research in order to formulate lubricants according to the specifications and work of machines, especially machines with the latest technology. We are adaptive, agile and quick in responding to consumer needs," said Sari Istiani Rachmi quoting a written statement, Sunday, November 19.

SIG Operations Director, Reni Wulandari said that GIS' cooperation with PTPL shows a strong GIS commitment to increase the Domestic Component Level (TKDN) in all operational activities as a form of alignment with the domestic industry as well as the success of the Domestic Product Use Improvement (P3DN) program launched by the Government, as well as the creation of a business ecosystem that supports the growth and strengthening of the Indonesian economy.

The use of domestic products is a strategic initiative as stated in the Sustainability Road Map SIG 2020-2030. We support government programs and policies in P3DN and the Proudly Made in Indonesia National Movement (Gernas BBI), for national economic growth by opening the widest possible opportunity for large domestic industries and small and medium enterprises, to participate in the supply chain of SIG. Moreover, SIG and PTPL share the same values in presenting world-class products, so that this synergy helps us ensure reliability and quality in the production process in the SIG Group," said Reni Wulandari.
