Hutama Karya Projects Trans Sumatra Toll Traffic To Increase By 19 Percent Until The End Of 2023

PT Hutama Karya (Persero) projects that the Trans Sumatra Toll Road (JTTS) traffic will increase by 19 percent on an annual basis (yoy) until the end of 2023. This increase is marked by the number of vehicles passing on the Trans Sumatra Toll Road which will reach more than 59,000 vehicles per day.

The company is optimistic that this target will be achieved, especially during the Christmas and New Year (Nataru) moments. It is known, during the year-end holidays, toll road traffic is expected to increase significantly.

Executive Vice President (EVP) Corporate Secretary Hutama Karya Tjahjo Purnomo said that currently his party is preparing Nataru services by carrying out routine maintenance on all toll roads,

Maintenance is especially on the Terbanggi Besar-Pematang Panggang-Kayu Agung Toll Road and the Pekanbaru-Dumai Toll Road, using maintenance methods for mediating, Filling & Overlay (SFO) and rigid concrete reconstruction.

"In addition, we are also preparing standby personnel, other additional facilities, and anti-acet strategies for the safety and comfort of toll road users," Tjahjo said in a written statement, quoted Thursday, November 9.

As of October 31, 2023, the average daily traffic (LHR) of Hutama Karya Toll Road, which reaches more than 210,000 vehicles per day.

A significant increase occurred on the Trans Sumatra Toll Road (JTTS) of 15 percent in the same one in 2022, from 49,000 vehicles per day to 56,000 vehicles.

Hutama Karya noted that the highest traffic on JTTS was on the Pekanbaru-Dumai Toll Road with a total of 16,000 passing vehicles.

"The high traffic is supported by the high interest of the people of Riau Province to shorten their travel time to work or to just take a vacation on weekends," said Tjahjo.

Meanwhile, traffic in other sections is still quite stable, such as in the Terbanggi Besar-Pematang Panggang- Kayu Agung section as many as 14,000 thousand vehicles, Palembang-Indralaya sections as many as 8,400 vehicles, and Binjai-Langsa sections as many as 8,200 vehicles.

Then, in Pekanbaru-Bangkinang section as many as 4,700 vehicles, Sigli-Banda Aceh as many as 3,000 vehicles, and the Bengkulu-Taba Penjung Toll Road as many as 1,500 vehicles.

It is known, until November 2023, Hutama Karya has operated 708 km of toll roads consisting of the Bakauheni-Terbanggi Besar Toll Road along 140 km, the Terbanggi Besar-Pematang Panggang-Kayu Agung section along 189 km, the Bengkulu-Taba Penjung Toll Road along 18 km, and the Palembang-Indralaya Toll Road 22 km.

Next, the 64.5 km Indralaya-Prabumulih Toll Road, the 132 km Pekanbaru-Dumai Toll Road, the 31 km Pekanbaru-Bangkinang Toll Road, and the 17 km Medan-Binjai Toll Road.

Then, the Binjai Langsa Section 1 (Binjai-Stabat) & Section 2 of the 19.5 km Stabat-Kwala Bingai Segment, the Sigli-Banda Aceh Toll Road Section 2-6 (Seulimeum-Baitusalam) along 50 km, as well as the JORR Section S Toll Road with a length of 14.25 km and the 11.4 km Tanjung Priok Access Toll Road (ATP) located on the island of Java.
