JAKARTA - PT Hutama Karya (Persero) or HK and PT Hutama Marga Waskita (Hamawas) will operate two (2) toll roads that belong to the Trans Sumatra section, namely the Kuala Tanjung-Tebing Tinggi-Parapat Toll Road Section 1 Tebing Tinggi-Junction Indrapura and Section 2 Segment Junction Indrapura- Simpang Susun Indrapura, each with a length of 15.6 km and 28.5 km.

This follows the issuance of the Ministerial Decree (Kepmen) of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Number 1401/KPTS/M/2023 concerning the Stipulation of the Operation of the Indrapura-Kisaran Toll Road for the Indrapura-Five Puluh Section, and Kepmen PUPR Number 1518/KPTS/M/2023 dated October 25, 2023.

Executive Vice President (EVP) Corporate Secretary Hutama Karya Tjahjo Purnomo said that these two toll roads had previously gone through Functional Feasibility Test (ULF) on August 22-25, 2023.

The results themselves have met the Minimum Service Standards (SPM) with the issuance of an Operational Eligibility Certificate (SLO) on September 8, 2023 for the Indrapura-Five Puluh Toll Road and the Tebing Tinggi-Indrapura Toll Road on September 19, 2023.

In terms of facilities, Tjahjo said the two toll roads were equipped with 4 toll booths, 29 CCTV units, 3 VMS units, and 27 standby fleet units on the Indrapura-Five Puluh Toll Road.

Meanwhile, the Tebing Tinggi-Indrapura Toll Road itself is equipped with 2 toll gates, 7 toll booths, 70 CCTV units, 4 VMS units, and 16 units of standby fleets.

"During the socialization period, these two toll roads have not yet been charged the tariff until the issuance of the Decree of the Tariff Ministry," said Tjahjo, quoted from Hutama Karya's official website, Wednesday, November 8.

Tjahjo said that the two toll roads will be integrated with each other so that road users will start their journey by entering the Tebing Tinggi-Indrapura Toll Road along 28.3 km first, then proceed to the Indrapura-Five Puluh Toll Road along 15.60 km.

"This toll road integration can cut the travel time from the direction of Tebing Tinggi to the Limapuluh area, which was previously more than 1.5 hours to only 20 minutes," he said.

The presence of these two toll roads will connect production centers, improve the economy for the people of North Sumatra, especially areas around the toll road on/of ramp, by accelerating logistical accessibility to and from Kuala Tanjung, as well as being a backbone towards the Special Economic Zone (Sei Mangkei).
