Growing 8 Percent, Pelindo Records 125 Million Tons Of Goods Flow In The Third Quarter Of 2023

JAKARTA - PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) or Pelindo managed to print a flow of 125 million tons of non-packaged goods in the third quarter of 2023. This achievement shows an 8 percent growth compared to the same period last year.

"The container current tends to be stable amid the slowing global economic challenges, which is 12.9 million TEUs, or growing 1 percent compared to last year," said Pelindo's President Director, Arif Suhartono, in an official statement, Monday, October 23.

Arif said the operational achievements were in line with the port service standardization program that Pelindo continued after the merger, both at container terminals and non-packaging containers. The speed of loading and unloading services in a number of ports has begun to increase.

For example at the Belawan Container Terminal (TPK), continued Arif, the number of loading and unloading has more than doubled from 20 boxes to 60 boxes per ship per hour. In addition, at the Ambon Container Terminal, the loading and unloading speed has almost tripled, from 12 boxes to 35 boxes in optimum conditions.

Arif said, the realization of increased operational performance supports Pelindo's financial performance. Business revenue in the third quarter of 2023, recorded at IDR 22.5 trillion, grew 4 percent from the previous year.

This achievement reflects the positive results of collaborative efforts from various entities in Pelindo Group that allow company resource management to become more efficient and integrated. Thus, Pelindo will make a maximum contribution to Indonesia's logistics connectivity. We are optimistic that this positive trend will continue until the end of 2023," said Arif.

Meanwhile, General Manager of PT Salam Pacific Indonesia Line Agus Prabowo said Pelindo had had a positive impact on the shipping world, which made coordination easier.

"Providing integrated services through a house to house for ship and goods services, as well as providing inter-terminal connectivity so that ship services or planning can be easier and faster," he said.

In September 2023, Pelindo launched an integrated multi-terminal port operating system called PTOS-M (Pelindo Terminal Operation System Multipurpose) with features that provide service convenience for service users such as online booking requests, and assist in operation planning, storage inventory and control and monitoring.

The system, which is implemented as an effort to standardize non-packaging services, has been carried out at the ports of Pelindo Belawan, Makassar, Ambon, Nilam, Sorong and Jayapura.

Meanwhile, for the container terminal service operating system, PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) has also launched TOS Nusantara since February 2022. TOS Nusantara provides convenience for service users because it integrates business processes starting from billing, gate, yard and operations at the dock and makes it easier to monitor container movements.
