JAKARTA - The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) encourages the electronics industry to be more qualified and competitive in the global market. This is because the electronics industry is one of the sectors that gets development priorities in accordance with the Making Indonesia 4.0 roadmap.

"The electronic industry is able to make a significant contribution to the national economy. Moreover, electronic products from Indonesia are getting better quality and able to compete in the global market," said the Ministry of Industry's Director General of Metal, Machinery, Transportation Equipment and Electronics (ILMATE) Taufiek Bawazier in a written statement received by VOI, Monday, October 23.

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) noted that the performance of the metal, computer, electronic goods, optics and electrical equipment industry during the second quarter of 2023 grew by 17.3 percent compared to the first quarter of 2023.

Meanwhile, based on data from the Ministry of Investment/BKPM, the investment value of the electronic and telematics industry sector (KBLI 26) until the second quarter of 2023 exceeded IDR 3.68 trillion. This value is higher than the total investment in the first and second quarters of 2022, which amounted to IDR 2.61 trillion.

"Our goal of being involved in this TEI is to introduce to market targets that Nextron is the only local smart meter manufacturer that provides a total solution," he said.

The products displayed by PT Pampas Electric-Nextron Teknologi Indonesia at the Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) 2024, include ultrasonic water meters, energy or kWh meter and gas meters.

"So, the advantage is that we not only sell products, but technology up to the application for end users or project owners. We call it smart meters in One Solution," he said.

To date, the total investment disbursed by PT Pampas Electric-Nextron Teknologi Indonesia has reached US$750,000, and is targeted to increase to a total of US$1,200,000 by 2024. The company, which has been established since 2011, has also absorbed more than 300 workers.

The company also produces various electrical and electronic equipment by OEM, including Set Top Box, Wifi router, Audio Visual, Remote Control, and Electric MCCB. Its products have penetrated various countries, including Germany, the United States, India, South Korea, Egypt, Brazil, and Angola.
