Deputy Minister Rosan: International Standards Help Improve Data Center Business

Deputy Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (Wamen BUMN) Rosan Perkasa Roeslani said, to attract customers, Indonesia's data center industry requires an increase in international quality standards.

Rosan said Indonesia must continue to improve standards so that it can attract international customers. In addition, business actors must also understand regulations and policies that are in line with what is developing abroad.

"First of all, we have to improve our standards as well, but the standards I see are very good and international standard. Yes, we also have to understand the rules and policies that are in line with the outside," said Rosan, quoted from ANTARA, Monday, October 16.

Furthermore, he said, Indonesia also needs to make policy adjustments that attract potential customers both in Indonesia and abroad, in order to grow the data center industry.

According to Rosan, the increase in the data center industry should not only be carried out by Telkom Data Ecosystem (NeutraDC), a subsidiary of TelkomGroup, but also other relevant ministries and institutions.

"This must be an effort together, not only the NetraDC can do it, but we ourselves in ministries or governments must carry out policies that encourage us to be better, more competitive," said Rosan.

Rosan is optimistic that the data center industry in Indonesia can grow rapidly.

According to him, currently Indonesia's biggest rival in Southeast Asia is only Singapore.

However, Singapore is also starting to reduce the data center business, due to energy constraints.

Still, Rosan said, in addition to getting high economic value, the development of the data center industry is expected to create jobs.

"Therefore, this is our opportunity to be able to push significantly, which we hope can become a global player," he said.
