Coordination With The Ministry Of Industry: KESDM Ensures Rice Cooker Distribution Starting November

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources ensures that the program to distribute 500,000 units of rice cooker electrical cooking utensils (AML) will soon launch in early November 2023.

Secretary General of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Dadan Kusdiana explained that this program had started running and was in the procurement process.

"Maybe this November has started to be distributed. We have budgeted it, the Ministerial Regulation (Ministerial Regulation) already exists. We will use the e-catalog later," said Dadan, Monday, October 16.

Dadan also ensured that his party had coordinated with the Ministry of Industry regarding the procurement of goods because there were several components in the rice cooker which were imported goods and had to be carried out within 3 months.

His party has also received certainty from the Ministry of Industry and logistics companies regarding the distribution of electricity cooking utensils.

Regarding AML assistance recipients, Dadan said the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources had pocketed the name and address of the recipient of the aid.

"Prospective recipients have started to enter, so we know what their names are, where are their addresses. We have prepared them," added Dadan.

Dadan said, in addition to coordinating with the Ministry of Industry, his ministry has also established communication with several domestic rice cooker provider vendors. Later the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources will provide e-catalogs and related companies will bid.

"We use procurement, e-catalog. Later they will offer it to us. We only opened last week, the market is sounding. Maybe this week the procurement process has started," he continued.

Dadan also emphasized that this program aims to encourage the use of clean energy in the form of electricity and suppress domestic LPG imports.

"Providing comfort also for the community. Riceccoker is not only cooking rice," concluded Dadan.

Just so you know, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has issued Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Regulation Number 11 of 2023 concerning the Provision of Electricity-Based Cooking Equipment for Households. As a derivative, Technical Guidelines for the Provision of Electrically-Based Cooking Equipment (AML) have also been issued through the Decree of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Number 548.K/TL.04/DJL.3/2023.

Direktur Jenderal Ketenagalistrikan Jisman P. Hutajulu menyampaikan program pemberian AML di tahun 2023 merupakan insentif kepada rumah tangga yang memenuhi kriteria tertentu.

Furthermore, Jisman conveyed that the AML Provision Program as many as 500,000 units in 2023 throughout Indonesia has the potential to increase electricity consumption by around 140 GWh equivalent to the 20MW generation capacity. This program also has the potential to save LPG around 29 million kilos or the equivalent of 9.7 million 3k tubes.
